From Colonial times through the Civil War, Alexandria has been the scene of many “firsts” in American history.Our public tour is appropriate for ages nine and up. If you have younger children, or would prefer tour material appropriate for children of all ages, we offer private family tours for groups of 15 or more.Tours meet at the Visitor Center located at 221 King Street, only two blocks from the Potomac River. Please arrive 5-10 minutes in advance.
